I have a real passion for volunteering. For 22 years I have been raising awareness of the power of culture to reach, engage and develop local people to mutual benefit, campaigning for the recognition and good management of volunteers across the sector. During that time, I have advised a wide range of organisations on how to set up, finance, manage and evaluate volunteer programs. My clients include: the National Trust, Design Museum London, Derby Museums, Canal & River Trust and Imperial War Museum North.
You can read some articles I have published on volunteering here. The Guardian wrote about a social inclusion volunteering project I developed at Imperial War Museum North in Manchester in 2002 – the first of its kind and still hailed by the DCMS as an exemplar project.
