I am currently supporting the central Volunteering team at Heelis to deliver a pilot programme which is pushing the boundaries of volunteering at six, specially chosen Exemplar properties. The aim is to support the teams to truly ‘go local’, encouraging inclusion and ownership of properties by involving volunteers at every level and in every role. As part of this work, I am lead consultant working directly with staff and volunteer project teams at Nymans Gardens in Sussex, and Nostell Priory in Wakefield. Previously, I developed national guidance to improve the way properties select and induct volunteers, and conducted qualitative research into tour-guiding with organisations in the UK and US.
